Stone Grange Distillery ApS
Stone Grange was founded by Henrik Irgang Elsner, who had previously created Pharmexa. In 2000, he sold the company to follow his passion for wine and spirits. He bought Stengården north of Fredensborg and established one of Denmark’s most beautiful vineyards, while also importing wine from top Australian producers.
However, Henrik became increasingly interested in distillation. In 2009, he invested in a German distillation apparatus and started Esrum Sø Microdistillery. He focused on developing a unique dill aquavit by collaborating with the Danish Innovation Agency and Agrotech to optimize the cultivation and harvest of dill. In 2014, he obtained a patent for his method, and the distillery became Den Ny Spritfabrik, collaborating with Hans Just for distribution.
In 2015, Henrik launched his first gin, ELG-Gin, which is crafted using three core ingredients – juniper berries, coriander seeds, and carrots – which are combined in different ways to create a unique experience with each variation. Recently, the distillery has also ventured into producing its own vodka, along with brandy and absinthe, further expanding their diverse range of exceptional spirits.
